Preparing the video for Spark Ads

You have three options for preparing content for Spark Ads:

  • Creator-Generated Code
    The creator selects a video and generates a unique code from the TikTok app, which they share with the brand for use in the ad campaign.

Message Template for retrieve the code from the influencer:

"Hi [Creator's Name],

We’d love to feature your TikTok content in our next ad campaign. Please follow these steps to authorize your post:

  • Open the TikTok app and choose the video you’d like to promote.

  • Tap the "More" button (three dots) on the video and select "Authorize video for ads" to generate a unique code.

  • Share the code with us so we can promote the video.

Thank you and let us know if you have any questions!"

  • Creator Marketplace Integration
    If using TikTok’s Creator Marketplace, you can directly sync the creator’s organic posts into TikTok Ads Manager without generating a code.

  • Brand's Organic Post
    Select a video from your brand’s TikTok profile and promote it directly through Spark Ads.


Setting up Spark Ads in TikTok Ads Manager

To turn organic content into Spark Ads, follow these steps in TikTok Ads Manager:

  • Create a Campaign

    • Log in to your TikTok Ads Manager account.

    • Click "Create ad" or select "Create" from your campaign list.

  • Choose an Objective
    Select an objective that aligns with your campaign goals, such as awareness, consideration, or conversion. For instance, if your goal is to increase website traffic, select the Traffic objective under the Consideration category. Learn more about choosing objectives here.

  • Set Up Ad Group and Ads

    • Select the Spark Ads format.

    • Under "Upload creatives," click "Select posts from library" and choose the post to promote.

    • Add a CTA button and landing page.

  • Finalize the Campaign

    • Set a campaign name and budget.

    • Declare any special ad categories if applicable.

    • You can also toggle split testing and campaign budget optimization options.

    • Click "Submit" to finalize the ad setup.
